Have a friend with a 2k CTD with a auto, this is his second transmission failure, the first was at 40K, just out of warranty, now with 3k on the rebuild it is back in the shop. He has been told it was clutch failure the first time and the 5 Star dealer here would not let him see the parts or talk to the tech??, I told him as soon as he gets his rig out of the shop to call Bill K and get his rear end to Canada. What p**** me off about this is the attituce of Lithia dealership here is when questioned they told him to get his truck of their lot. Thanks for letting me vent, its not my truck but the way the man was treated just sucks.

At least the DTT upgrades will be the last transmission upgrades needed.

Whenever you get your truck worked on ask, or tell, them to save all the parts that they say is bad so you can see them. The repair shop HAS to let you see them and they ARE yours unless it is a warr. repair. But they still have to show you the parts. One thing we, mechanics, has to watch out for is someone come in to get a vehicle worked on that looks older than 18 that is really younger, because if someone is under 18 the shops can not charge them and the vehicle has to be returned already repaired. This happens alot but most shops still don't check IDs. I am NOT saying to do this to the crooked shops though. I do not mind paying for repairs that need to be done, I expect to pay.
