I'm in the middle of a transmission fluid change and have noticed the filter my local parts house sold me appears to be from a later model (1998+) auto transmission. The old filter has 3 fasteners. The replacement I have has only two fastener holes and appears to be of nicer construction; it has a gasket for the suction tube and a plastic shield on the underside. It's a ATP B-175 filter. Anyone know if it's OK to use this on my 1995 47RH transmission?

I went ahead and mounted the filter. It will mount just fine but interfers with the stock pan. My guess is that it would work with one of the aftermarket pans that are deeper.

BTW: I returned the filter and got the correct one plus about $12 back!!!
