With recommendation from DTT's Bill Kondolay, I had my truck towed Tuesday 12:30am 160 miles from Sacramento to J & H Performance Diesel in Redding,CA. , a DTT authorized transmission builder. They bent over backwards to make sure they finished Friday so we were able to go on our vacation tomorrow 8/10.
They gave me credit for the DTT valvebody already installed, (equaled the tow bill, BTW)and also updated it to DTT's current specs.
I needed a bunch of new stuff that was broken, but the best additional mod was DTT's torque converter. What a difference!!
To all who dare to bomb without both a VB and TC upgrade, learn from my mistake, you may save yourself a tow bill. Not to mention new parts inside the transmission you would not need to replace if you first install the DTT VB/TC before adding a box + injectors.
Now I can add up to 1000 HP! Just kidding
I also had a 4" turbo back exhaust system installed because it was up on the lift so why not?
And finally the cost? Well, let's just say that I could have bought two currently advertised 1988 Eddie Bauer Bronco II's, but not with nearly the fun!
