Diesel in a Jeep?

"New" Crew Cab on the way time to think B5.9 swap

Someone stopped in yesterday who has a B3. 9 that he wants to put in a Dakota. Is the face of the auto transmission in the Dakota the same as on the diesel? I hate to have to reinvent the wheel, and make an adapter plate if there is an easier method. Anyone know of someone who has done this conversion? My expertise with conversions is more on the ag tractor side. Thanks!

I havn't done this but I suspect that the Dodge Cummins 5. 9 stuff will work. The small Cummins, 4 and 6cyl castings are very similar and should bolt up the same. Sounds like a fun project.
