I'm new here and am trying to figure out exactly what I should do to get my Auto transmission ready for an Exhaust Brake for towing down the paved parts of the mountains in Washington/Idaho/Montana. I have found two avenues and would like your opinions please.

1. DTT Valve Body and Smart Controller

or

2. BD Valve Body, PressureLoc, and AutoLoc Controller

Truck will be brand new, so I am not sure about having to change the Torque Converter this soon????

I am also already thinking about an Edge EZ and DDIIs since the Bank$ threads on this site have talked me out of a PowerPack!

I'd say you have done your homework very well!

Give DTT a call and maybe re-think the converter issue if you have the cash.

It's the tc that makes the truck the rest just holds it together.

come on down to Auburn

you can drive my DTT enchanced truck and maybe John will have his smart controller wired in soon.

Driving is believing and #1 is your best option :)

Thanks for the input! Now, is there somewhere around Seattle I can get the DTT stuff done, or is it a trip up north??:--) Bob, when can I drive your truck? Can I drive it until mine arrives in April? Do you or John have an Exhaust Brake?

DTT :)

I think you are on the right track with the Edge EZ and DDII's. Then you need to get more air and more air out. Maybe not a full 4", but you definitely need to get rid of the stock muffler.

I've got that part figured out..... 4" exhaust and the K&N FIPK for it. I have one (K&N) on my Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 and it made a difference. I just wish my truck would get here so I can start BOMBing it! Or, should I wait until after the 7Yr/100,000 Mile Powertrain Warranty runs out? ;) NOT!
