Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Auto transmission Problems

Buddy has a 98 auto. He tore the transmission up and went the cheap route to fix it. It has a suncoast TQ and valve body they got it back together and does not have 1st unless you put it manually and does not have OD or lockup. Have already replaced all the electronics put it on the computer and they are working. Line pressure is eratic at best above 100 in gear and jumps all around at idle. Any ideas???

Did he try putting the resistor in that is included with the Suncost V/B? Sounds like the high line pressures may be making it go into limp mode.
