I have dd1s , ez . , i just had triple lock t/c, v/b installed,

everything was fine for 3 weeks ,I took my first tow trip. 100 miles,8000 lbs. now my transmission is acting hay wire . iratic shifting around 45mph . happend on holiday weekend. cut trip short and limped home . o/d off . suncoast dealer is closed till monday. so i havent talked to rep yet . i cant sleep at nite, any ideas? thanks, rob.

Monday evening, after extensive searching for anybody who has had a problem similar to mine. I found to things to try. #1 check battery connections, #2 reset throtle posistion sensor, via disconecting batts. waiting 30 min. reconect, turn on key, depress pedal 3 times to the floor slowly . turn off key. turn key back on , repeat start and drive. Well, it ran fine around the block. also fine all the way to work and back tuesday. appox. 20 miles each way. 75% freeway 25% roads. the problem did not reoccur. i tried to simulate the same rpms and speed. I also removed my ez. at the same time. . I called suncoast dealer. they agreed i had some kind of electrical problem. and agreed that those things have been known to help. also stating a handful of other oddities. There final statement was take it to a transmission shop , get it scoped while driving. bottom line. if i dont get lucky with what ive done, does anybody recomend a transmission shop ? Im in san diego, north county if possible . Thanks for any help. Robert

Wednwesday rolled around, just as i rolled to work with no problem. I wonder if my ez is part to blame? thursday im going to hook up the trailer , and drive towards palomar moutain. If get into trouble my next step is jt desiel. thanks guys. Robert
 
Thursday: just made a 30 mile loop through the moutains . Ive hithed up my 8000 lbs toy hauler. At 8 miles i reconected the ez. [ running so good i needed more power]. Now things were as good as new. I dont know what actually happend . but now all is well . Friday i will install the torque locker from suncoast. all there equipment is known as[prolock]. Things are good today. Robert

Update : I did get the torque locker installed alright. And yes it does work. But as fate would have it my transmission has started to act up again. [eratic hunting around between shift points]... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . Off to the shop we go this thursday... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Robert:(
 
Solenoid is all I can say. My acted the same way after some tranney goody's were added.

Looked for weeks, finally someone told me about the solenoid & how they are known to act up. Replaced mine all was back to normal.
 
Solenoid is located inside the pan. It is easy to fix. I replaced mine in my driveway 3 weeks ago. Bill from DTT recommended that I also replace the pressure sensor at the same time since I already had the pan down. All together the parts were about $175 and took about an hour. If you buy the parts then drop the pan, you won't be able to miss them. They are easy to find. While you are at it, buy 6 quarts of transmission fluid. That's about how much you will lose when you drop the (stock)pan.



BTW- it made a world of difference in how much transmission shifts.
 
re: update

I just had my truck scanned for error messages and it showed that the lift pump is heating up. As it turns out the trans. is ok. It is actually thre ecm shutting the pump on and off rapidly due to the alarms it has seen. the recommendation is to take it to the dealer for warranty. I just hope i can get the boost elbow off the turbo. The last time tried it felt like the threads were coming out at the same time... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . I have had the Governor replaced about 2 months ago under warranty at dealer. The symptoms were , the transmission would start off in second instead off low. . I wont be able to get the truck to the dealer till end off next week . Keeping my fingers crossed.
