I recently installed a Mag-Hytec double deep pan, the 94/95 pump output line with probe port, and an ISSPRO EV Trans Temp electric guage. I don't have a base to compare to so I'm seeking some input from the TDR.

The temps seem low to me. The guage dial range is from 140*-360*. When I finished the install, I warmed the truck and put it in drive and watched the temp climb to about 175*. Cool!! Wrapped it up and off for the test run (unloaded). On the road the temp dropped to 140* (or less) and stayed. Wrote it off as a loose connection. Looked things over in the daylight and all seemed normal, so again started the truck and warmed the trans up while watching the needle climb to about 175*. On the road, same thing: back to 140. I pulled over to the side and idled back up to 175. Got on the road and again it fell to 140*. I don't believe the guage is shorted as there are no eratic needle movements or spikes.

Are other Mag-Hytec DD pan owners seeing these temps? Is my system running extremely cool or might there be a guage malfunction? I dropped a similar note on DTT to Bill K. Thought I would seek help here also.

Thanks, BF

even with the orginal mag pan

normal temps are always less than 150 with the sender in the same location at highway speeds

The gauge will rise while in traffic or towing

I am all running amsoil universal ATF+4

Alls normal :)

I have a sender in the output line and one in the body that will move to the pan when I do the first fluid change. Towing as long as TC is locked up, temp stays just below 140. Get in a traffic jam and I see 220 to 230. Putting it in neutral at fast idle helps when stuck in traffic jams. Towing up a big hill with the 5er will get it around 150. SNOKING.

Sounds normal.....

And I don't have the double deep pan. 140° or so when in lock-up and 180° or so when pushed in normal traffic. Worst I ever saw was 250° towing a load of wood uphill with my already heavy truck (10K lbs).
