If I understand correctly the pressure that locke up the torque convertor (on the stock transmission) is determined by the throtle position. If this is true then when one bombs the truck and it requires less push on the accelerator then you have less pressures in the transmission. It looks like more power from bombing with less pressure on lockup would be a bad situation. Is my reasoning correct or am I completely wrong here?

Thanks
Ken

Do NOT add a pressure lock & "take your chances" if you bomb your engine, bomb your transmission. The pressure lock is not a replacement for a valve body or shift kit. They do many other things besides raising main line pressure, such as full time converter lube, better shift points, etc. The pressure lock will increase all transmission pressures even on a bombed trans, when the torque converter is locked up, but its main purpose is increased pressures while your throttle position is in the idle position, as it is when using any exhaust brake.

Still driving the Dodge for now... soon it will be on a train heading out your way. John from New Hampshire bought it, sure will be sad to see it go. As for the Ford... well it looks like I've got a lot of work in front of me, if I can't get it up to spec with the power stroke engine I'm going to do one of two things. Go out and buy my own Dodge [ was wanting to wait until the crew cab & common rail fuel system are available] or put an 8. 3 in the sucker... that ought to make it pull good #ad

well its not going to far away , i'll be looking forward to seeing it in person and maybe seeing first hand what it will do . how did BD advertise its sale ? Dam that really raises the bar , i HAD one of the fastest rams in the area #ad
i guess the HX40 and propane injection are next ... got enough room under the hood of that ford for an 8. 3 ????

It was never advertised, John had asked me about it some time ago & I had replied it wasn't for sale. Then I received an e-mail from Brian telling me to sell it so I phoned John & the rest is history. I've turned it down a bit, it's 425hp normal & 198 with the valet parking switch on #ad
. It's too bad it has to be shipped before our new tc is ready, you could have tried it out in a test drive. Would've been nice to get your professional opinion.
I'm thinking a 2" body lift, electric fans & a large shoe horn to fit the 8. 3 in #ad

I guess we are going to have to wait until you have the ford up and running, cause if anyone can get it running it will be you. #ad

well , turned down its in my ballpark , still got a couple of ponies on me , FOR NOW ... me professional ? hardly , but thatnks , i do try my best , i have a couple of good teachers though .

i agree with stephan , if anyone can get that Ford to run , you're the guy , but from what i hear from a guy on the east coast with a hot Ford , it will take some CUBIC DOLLARS to do it .
