I just had my automatic transmission rebuilt and everything is good except for the shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd , each of these gear shift points hangs. The 3rd to 4th is fine as well as lockup. This problem happens when you drive normally. If I take off hard (WOT) it will shift fine. If I take off slow it will just hang in 1st until I either kick the peddle to the floor or let off the peddle momentary. I have to do this in 2nd gear as well. My transmission guys have tried to fix this. It will work for about 10 min and then back to the won’t shift unless you are WOT or kicking the peddle to get it to shift. I drove it all weekend and a couple of times it started working correctly on it’s own. But that only lasted for a few minutes. The transmission guys swapped out the brand new solenoids, because they claim that they have found about a 25% failure rate of brand new solenoids. Just to give everyone a idea of what I have in this transmission I will list it below. Does anyone have an idea on what might be going on?

· New Multidisk billeted torque converter from Midwest Converters. http://www.raceconverters.com/iCONT.htm

· TransGo Shift Kit

· Raybestos Blue Line racing clutches.

· New 3rd gear hub that holds 6 clutches

· 4th gear hub now has 23 disks

· New 6 pinion 1st and reverse planetary

· New 2nd gear ratio lever 5:1

· New upgraded servo covers

"AT w/billeted converter just rebuilt and hopped up to DTT/ATS level 4/05" Like right! Does not sound like it to me. You cut some corners, and now your transmission guru can not figure it out!!!!! You get what you pay for. Remove DTT/ATS from your sig, put your tail between your legs and call Bill. SNOKING

FOX,

I just had them install a shiftkit and I had them set it for medium pressure(ie firm shifts not neck snapping). As far as I know there have not been any codes set.

Snoking,

Yeah your right, I should not add that tag line. I have removed it upon your request! The reason I did not go to DTT or ATS is because I live in ALASKA! Needless to say, do you have any useful help that I could give my transmission builder, or more useless commentary???

Telling you to call Bill at DTT is not useless commentary. He is known to help anyone that calls. SNOKING

snoking i will provide you with as many opportunities to kiss bill's *** as i can

call bill, i would prob say that there is a shift valve sticking in the vb or somethign is not adjusted right. the time when these trans fail is when something is not adjusted right. there are so many parts that an auto transmission relies on to work properly if one is out of wack then it can throw the entire system off.

CC-if you dont have anything helpful or useful to say dont waste your time typing useless comments and in turn it wastes our time when we are scrolling down and have to waste time reading your jargon, if you have a prob with bill take it up with them. there are way to many happy dtt (as well as other trans companies) customers. there had to be somethign wrong in the system of your trans. i would guess a cut corner somewhere.

I feel your pain CBrandt. I had a few hang-ups a couple years ago when I had mine installed by a "non" certified DTT installer. Everything eventually panned out but I'm still driving by to see Bill in June just make sure everything was done up to their standards, I'm guessing it wasn't, and to get a few more upgrades. Oo.

If you don't mind me asking... who did you use? PM me if you'd like.

revised for bandit1

cbrandt call bill, i would prob say it is less air in your right front tire than left rear tire.

can i be in the lemmings group now?

there is always someone that tries to be funny. all i am trying to say is these threads are meant to be helpful, if you have a problem (which you obviously do) take it up with whoever is to blame (you, your installer, or bill, i bet it is one of those 3 people and we can all guess statistically which ones are more to blame). you stated your opinion now move on. people like you posting trash doesnt help the guy with the problem.
