Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) automatic transmission oil capacity

Maybe stupid Q. but how many QT of oil I will need to change the oil in my AT transmission. 2001. 5 4 x 4. I em thinking to put amsoil in it, will be any problem to mix amsoil with the rest of atf +4 ? THX

The 42re & 46re both take 10 qts on total fill. The 47re takes 17 qts.

I dont think you will be able 17 quarts by just dropping the pan...

I dont think you will be able to get 17 in by pulling the quick release line below the radiator.

I would add four and then go from there. Provided you don't have a DD Mag Hytec pan.

Nuetral and then check until you are full.
