A weird one for you guys. Not sure if it should be in general diesel or here. What adapter is used to mate a B series up to the 727 auto. Swapping a 4Bt into a Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The jeep has a 727 but it is a 1 of a kind bell housing. My 4BT has a TH475 bolted up behind it. I could do two things, find a 205 T-case that mates to a TH400 and hope it will fit in the jeep. This will require a bunch of changes including driveshafts, crossmembers and all linlages. If I can find the right Cummins specific 727 I might just swap tail shafts and bolt the thing in with no driveline changes... .

Anybody have a better idea ?

No adaptor. The 727 for the Cummins has a different bellhousing face the that for a gasser. 40 years ago, I was able to get adaptors from Honest Charley's Speed Shop in Chattanooga to put 727's behind anything. I don't know if the place even still exists!

I think you should go with the 475 and call a place like advanced adaptors (find them in a 4 wheeler magazine) i think you'll have luck there with the 475. If you can find a '89 or 90 diesel 727 (I think jasper sells them outright) that may be a second way, but I don't know about the housing on your 4bt. I ve seen this conversion before, i don't know what transmission was used, but it was real cool. Good luck. BTW i think what you have is the AMC version torqueflite, with an AMC V8 bell. this is what they used.
