Hi,

Just checking before I try to install this thing.

I take it that it installs over the top of the old one, or do I have to remove the factory cover first?

The instructions that came with it are less then helpfull!

Just slips over the factory column. No removing anything. I found that it didn't need much to hold it in place. I opted to just use a little double sided tape and threw the plastic screws/rivets in the garbage.

What do you think of those extra gauges sitting in front of the dash? Do they block any of the stock gauges, or idiot lights? It looks like they would cause a blind spot.

The only thing it blocks for me is the odometer. I have to look around the left gauge to see it. If I had an automatic I think it would block the gear indicator. Once you get a feel for the gear in a auto, you don't really need the indicator, IMHO. Other than that, I have no problem seeing the rest of the gauges or idiot lights.

I installed one in my truck. It _does_ block the odometer and the gear indicator. I did remove the upper cover to mount the pod and run the wires through the stock cover and along the steering column. I used the plastic rivets which seemed to mount it "flusher" with the stock cover. To remove the cover all you need is a # 20 tork bit screwdriver.
