Cool down timers

I just installed 3 autometer gauges and one of them being a 0-30 electric FP and my question is: It bounces all over the place... . At idle it sits normal and at cruise its fine but when i decelerate or accelerate or any throttle movement what so ever it bounce and then settles down... . Any ideas on why it does this? This is my first electric FP gauge so maybe i am missing something... . I have a needle valve inline with it but from what i hear is most people use a snubber..... You think thats my problem is i need a snubber inline? and if so which one do i get and where would i buy one? THANKS

I have an Autometer fp gauge and had to use a snubber due to the condition you described. I bought mine locally from a company that sells hydraulic equipment. The name of the snubber I used is Chemiquip. size 1/8 porosity D. That will get ya straight. You can find them online for under $10. 00
Autometer is aware of the problem, I'm suprised that your gauge did not come with one after all the complaints they must get. Mines been on for over 3 years with the snubber without a problem. You should get it fixed quick befor you ruin the transducer.

Use a snubber and on the end of that put a valve that you can close down to decrease the pulsating to the sending unit. I have mine only a 1/8-1/4 turn open. No bouncing at all. My T is located between the filter and VP, with my sending unit mounted to firewall. Not sure what fuel lines your running but you should be able to make one up. Good luck.
