autometer gauges..why did you buy them?

well i just put in my boost and egt gauges and boy am i disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!first the wire's on the probe arent right ok so i fix then im getting all happy it's almost done and we try it before we button it up the egt gauge dont work!!!! the needle point's to the o in pyrometer! so i think i scrwed up and hooked it up wrong check everything and sure enough the gauge is hooked up correct. so now i call up my supplier and they are sending me another gauge.

one more thing the egt has moisture in it from the minute i'v had it

I've had the opposite experience. The gauges I just installed are IMHO far superior to the BANKS/ISSPRO setup I have in the 89. The gauge quality, no to mention the pyro response is far better than the others and actually reads outside temp at startup. The Banks setup never got below 200 even in the winter.

I bought one set. I will NEVER buy another. It makes me rather angry to buy 5 gauges for a street rod and then find out that you are a bloody beta tester. Or probably an alpha tester.



Odometer trip meter does not always just roll to the next 100. Sometimes it is 200. Hey, who would have thought you might need to dampen a fuel gauge so it does not literally swing peg to peg as you drive. Well it's more accurate that way. Sure we will fix yours if you send it to us. Ok I'll just use a stick to measure the fuel for a month or so. And on it went...



By the end I needed asbestos envelopes to keep the letter inside from burning.



NEVER AGAIN!
