Autometer Help!

Ok that red tag says to hook the sender up to that pole. However the paper instructions say to hook ignition power to that pole and the sender to the pole opposite, even the gauge has the "S" and the "I" depecting opposite placement. Autometer is closed today, anybody run into this before? This is just a simple trans temp gauge.

go by the schematic stamped in the back. It shows to use that lug for the ignition, the middle one for negative and the other on for the sender

Look at the little circle in between the lugs, ground is top center lug then theres an "S" to the left, thats the sender Lug, on the right theres an "I" thats the ign. lug, Some one put the tag

on the wrong lug, good thing you caught it, you put voltage to that lug and the gauge is FRIED!!!
