Guys,
I know this has probably been beet to death, but I have A 2005 cummins that I had a local accessory shop put in my boost, pyro and fuel pressure gauge. All of them are Phantom gauges, fuel being the 30lb electric one. The fuel pressure gauge has worked good for about 5 weeks. My truck is more of a weekend driver, so not too many miles since I have bought it. Last night I was leaveing for a good 200 mile trip for the weekend, got about 40 miles from home and gauge started to jump all around the place. anywhere from 0 to 30. use to run 10 at idle, about 8. 5 down the road, and hold steady. Now at idle it is 10-12, going down the road it might be 2 for 10 miles then 8 for 20 miles, then bounce around for 20 miles. Did this all the way for the remander of the 200 mile trip. I am pretty sure that it is not the actual fuel pressure causing this.
Anyway, the truck shop that did this it was there first fuel pressure one that they did. I am not sure that they did it correctly. anyone have a picture of how they installed theirs. Mine is right on the pump, basically vibrating all the time. Should it be on the filter housing? Snubber line? I am looking for advice so I can get it right. I will take it back to the shop if I need new parts. , otherwise I will do it myself.
Thanks for the help,
Larry
