Hey guys,
I just just recieved my ATS 3-Piece Manifold, a Full-Pillar Gauge Pod, and 3 Automater Guages that I ordered from Janetty Racing Enteprises.
I ordered the 0-35Lb Boost Guage, 0-15Lb Electric Fuel Gauge, and 0-1600*F Pyrometer.

My Question is about the Pyrometer Gauge,
I figured in my head that the gauge would show close to ambient temperature. BUT, when I opened the box, the Gauge was pointing STRAIGHT down,, WAY below the 0*F Marking.

When I opened the box the temperature was over 80, so I thought this was a wee bit odd.

I have not connected up the actual Probe wires to the gauge yet.

I have not been here very long, But I do know that alot of yall out there do have these autometer PYRO Gauges installed.

What temperature did YOUR Pyrometer Gauge show when you first opened the box ?

Thanks,
Merrick N. Cummings Jr.

P. S. I must say that Janetty Racing did an EXCELLENT JOB helping me get the best for my truck.

The Auto-Meter pyro is an electric gauge, which means it needs 12V and ground to get a reading. That's what that little box is for. Once you hook up 12V to it, the needle will move to the right spot.

Evan, where did you pick up your 12V for the gauge ? Is it from the ignition switch or the fuse box that is hot when the ignition switch is on ?

UNder your dash in the big bundle of wires coming from the ignition switch, there will be a big blue one. Slice, not cut, into that one, and put in a small fuse for the Auto-Meter box. 4 amps should be enough. This will give you ignition-on power.

Another way to connect to a ignition on power supply is to get a Littlefuse STD ATO Add-a-circuit (pepboys carries them). Connect the littlefuse to Fuse #2 in the fusebox, then attach the gauge to it. This eliminates any wire splicing and doesn't cause any more draw on original fuse.

Good Luck

Thanks a bunch for the insight guys.
Lots of help. #ad

Be careful when using any sort of fuse tap... I have seen many of them bend the original fuse socket contacts, resulting in intermittent electrical problems. They can be a ***** to diagnose, but whenever I see a fuse tap, I check it first.
