yep, ya herd it right!!!!

my pyro is humming and yes, it dosn't work either. it stays at 1300 to 1400 All the time. when the heater grid cycles, the guage goes haywire. checked all ground and other connections. JRE says pull it out and they will send it back to autometer to SEE if it's broke. sounds like it may take a while to get one back:mad: the guage is only 2 months old and is on a triple a-pillar setup.

... ... ... this sucks!!!... ... james

Advanced replacement...........

See if they won't send you one in the interum (sp) I'd hate to be driving around without one.

Curious about the heater grid though. Sending some kind of voltage up from the sender wires? Check the grounds and connections on the heater grid.

My 2¢,

Sounds to me more like the thermocouple junction is open and one leg has gone to ground. You might ask Autometer if their gauge is set up to go "high" or "low" on thermocouple burnout. If one leg of the thermocouple is shorted to ground (probably within its thermowell if it's a sheathed vs open thermocouple), it's trying to parallel the engine ground, and when the grid heaters come on, it's carrying bukus of current that it's not designed for.

Just a thought... . :D
