Has anyone had a problem hooking up their autometer pyro,I hooked mine up and I get nothing on the gauge,it goes to about 6 oclock on the gauge with key on and with it off reads about 200. I checked the probe and wiring and all seems good . I thought a pyro didn't need a power source though and I'm kinda wondering why they supply 12 v to the gauge.

Check to make sure you have a good ground to the gauge. On mine there was a power connection for the light. Then there was another 12v connection for the stepper motor which runs the gauge. My pyro goes to zero and calibrates when you turn the key on. Then once the truck starts it indicates temp.

You didn't shorten the wire to the thermo-couple did you?

EDIT: on second thought it doesn't sound like you did as that would make it read low.

I checked power at the wire for the stepper motoer and had 12v and checked continuity between my ground for the motor and ground and had good continuity. So I guess that must be the gauge,I e-mailed autometer to see what they say so I just have to wait and see.
