Ok after reading this sight for a couple of weeks y'all have talked me into gauges! However I am EXTREMELY picky about some things.

I am currently eyeballing the Autometer Ultra-Lite Gauge line does anyone out there have these and what do you think of them?

Should I go with 2 1/16 or the 2 5/8?

Mounting suggestions?

What ranges do I need?
Currently looking at 0 to 1600 degree on the EGT gauge and a 35psi boost gauge?

Thank you.

Kat,

I have the Auto-Meter Ultra Lite gauges installed on my 98. 5 2500. I have the 2" (2-1/16") and have them mounted ont he A-pillar in a dual pod mount. I have the 0-35 boost and the 0-1600 degree pyro. Installation was easy. I love the gauges. The aluminum face looks trick, and so does the aluminum ring around the gauges. Also, they are very easy to read at a quick glance. E-mail me if you have any more questions... #ad

KatDiesel,
I have the Autometer Pro Comp gauges. 2 5/8" mounted in black cups on the left side of the dash. I like the pillar mount better, but I wasn't able to find them when I put the gauges in two years ago. I don't want to change now because I don't want the holes in my dash to be visable. If I were you, I would go with the smaller size gauges and the pillar mount.

I had the Ultra Lites in my '98 and I thought they looked great. A-pillar mounted them. My main dislike was I thought they were a little difficult to read at night, unless you turned the dimmer switch high, which made them too bright and distracting when looking down the road. On my new truck, I'm going with Sport Comps (black dials w/white increments).

Installation was easy, expecially since Evan, Andy Perrault and gang did most the work for me #ad

Anyone want to buy a set of Auto Meter Ultra-Lite gauges? I have the 0-35 psi boost gauge and a 0-1600 degree pyro gauge. I will sell both for $165. This includes both gauges, tubing and fittings for boost, all wiring, pyro probe, and thermocouple module. I have decided to go with VDO gauges on the new truck. #ad
Email me if you are interested.
