Aux Fuel Tank Install 2019

Has anyone installed a gravity feed aux tank in their 2019 and had a problem installing the connection at the fill hose leading from the inlet to the tank? The process involves cutting out 1 1/2" of the line and installing the adapter. The line is all steel with bends and welded tabs in the way. I am stumped so if anyone has done it please tell me how.

Been there done that. I did not want to cut and have additional leak points so I drilled a hole in the steel tube and welded a bung for the check valve.. works great!

Talked to RDS today and they had me send pictures of the steel line. It seems that my line doesn't match their drawings so I will be talking to their engineer to get his recommendations. Their adapter will not fit at the tank hose or along the horizontal section. Support tabs and bends are in the wrong place. I might come down to welding an adapter on.

I tossed their adaptor in the recycle bin, to me it was another potential leak point or point of water / dirt intrusion, but I have a drill press and welder so it was easy peaszy.

When I installed my RDS tank on my 22, had the same issue. Too many bends in the fill pipe. I ended up drilling a hole in the fill pipe on top of the first horizontal spot, soldered a copper washer to a piece of 1/4" flexible copper line and attached it with a rubber washer and hose clamps. Did the same thing on my 17 and its still working with no leaks.
