My 1999 4x4 5 spd SB Quad cab 26,000m is almost perfect. Runs half the year empty and other half w/ 1750lb. wet wgt. Fleetwood Angler camper in the bed. Stock power is more than adequate. Edelbrock shocks added.
I've tried the two main aux. tank mfgrs. and they don't make aft axle fuel tank for SB. Something about SB lacks a crossmember in the back? Any ideas? I'd like to keep the main tank stock.
Also even fully loaded w camper , the overload camper package springs are about 1 inch away from touching. Only on bumps do they touch with a clang. Does anyone make hard rubber or UHMW plastic spacers so when my lighter than average camper is on the overloads would be working? I don't want to go the spring shop dissasmbly route if posssible. Will take my idea to a plastic machining shop if no luck here.
I'm also either going to install Pre-luber or Premo-plus bypass filter. Any member experience on quality and longevity on either?

I can't asnwer your ? - sorry - but you have prompted me to ask one. What manufacturers have you found that offer aux under bed tanks for LB. I have been considereing the aero replacement i found to get some extra capacity - though for once I liked having the "plastic" tank. If theres a way to "have my cake and eat it too" I'd like to investigate. But I suppose that requires loss of that spare tire I've been saving for that special occasion.

kes, I have a Transfer Flow 38 gallon aft axle aux tank on my '98 3500. Works great. Has a system that calculates fuel use out of the main tank and then transfers fuel as needed from the aux to the main. An LCD panel in the cab shows fuel level in each tank and shows status when the transfer function is activated. The fuel fills for both tanks fit behind the stock filler door. The only problem is loss of the stock spare tire mount. My spare rides in the bed forward of the 5th wheel hitch. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
