I would like to instal a hydraulic pump on a 95 3500 with a auto transmission . since the auto does not have PTO mounts this makes things A litte dificult . I have thought of A few ideas 1, mount pump with magnetic clutch to belt driven accessory. 2, Replace power steering pump with hyd pump and resevoir . In this case I may need A valve to switch from steering to aux hyds. 3, Install some type of aux trans or transfer case to drive A pump . Hopefully some of the members have input or solutions.

Les,

If your truck is 4 wheel drive and you have a HD NP241 transfer case (an option) you have P. T. O capability.

A 12 volt electric will work fine as long as you aren't using it full time, will make for the easiest install also. I think you would be hard pressed to find space for a belt driven pump though. With a '95 the vacuum pump is close coupled to the PS pump,it may take a bit of fabricating to do this type of install but in my opinion it would be the best. Check with Cummins on the pump,I know they have air compressors to fit in the PS pump location, wouldn't doubt if they also have a hyd pump, make sure your sitting down before they give you a price though.
