Well I think I have solved the lift pump problem. Added a Carter P4601HP pump back by the fuel tank. At the rear of the motor on the lifting eye put a bracket & installed a filter housing from a Cat 3126 & a 2 micron filter. Plumbed in series. Plan to remove the factory L/P get rid of the banjo fittings & put in a fresh Carter pump & carry the used one for a spare. :)

I'd like to see some pictures of your setup. I'm convinced that a better system can be put together for less money than a FASS or Airdog. The price on the Airdog is insane.

I am not technologically advanced enough to post pics. On the lift eye at the rear of the motor on the drivers side I bent a piece of flat stock & bolted it to the eye predrilled to hold the filter housing. The filter housing comes with or without a hand prime pump. Primer is not needed. I have a deck with a hidden 5th & mounted the pump on there but it could be mounted on the frame no problem. Pump is wired through a relay & activated by the factory L/P. My cost on the Cat filter was $12. Local dealer wants $53 for their little 10 micron POS. Total cost of project was $300 for the parts but I am a professional scrounger & did not have to pay for the filter housing. The Carter pump is noisey as hell but I just turn up the Sirrius.

I am using a holly RED pump on my transfer tank and am not happy with it's performance when it gets cold. What are the specs on the carter pump? When the fuel gets cold it does not want to go though the pump and a rac cor filter. I have used a additive to keep the fuel from jelling when traveling in the cold country.

You cannot hear the pump from inside the truck. If you stand back by the rear wheel you can hear the pump whine. This is of course with the engine running. I have the pump mounted in an aluminum box under the fill port on the bed frame. It also has a shut off switch to stop fuel flow and a rac-cor filter in the box. This is only for the transfer tank to pump into the main.

20 PSI & 50 GPH. We get a little cold here from time to time. Will not know how this pump performs until next winter. With the filter up by the engine should not be a problem there. I use Howes year round with every tank. Did one trip last winter @ -40 for over 1,000 miles & no gel problems. Or fuel has anti-gel from the refiner starting in early fall & we only have one grade of fuel.
