Looking at the 2010 Ram dash area, just above the dual heater controls there appears to be a blank for a switch just to the left of the hazard switch, and just below the dual heater controls there appears to be two (2) blanks for switches.

My questions are... .

1] is there some function or switch that Dodge intended for those spaces, and if so, what are they meant to be used for, and

2] If Dodge had no intent for their use why did they put them there?, and

3] Are they switch areas that could be utilized for owner optional functions by using a parts dept. purchase of one of the adjacent switches?, and

4] are the other switches in those two areas real hard mechanical switches, or are they simply input light contact inputs for the computer system that preclude someone from buying one of the switches and installing it there for another switching purpose?

Anybody out there with any good knowledge about this subject???

Well To answer 1 and 2 - Those blank spots are used on trucks depending on which model you have (st,slt, big horn ,laramie). Above the temp controls you have you will have (again depending on model) Exhaust brake, Tow/haul mode, 4 ways, parking camera on, parking sensors off, i think the last button is the light load button.

I don't know the answer for 3 and 4

auxiliary switches

Has anyone found out whether this idea is "doable"?

My ST has several empty spaces where switches could be installed if available and it would give a very neat appearance.
