I just priced a transmission cooler from a dealer here in phoenix... $275! To much money for what you get I think. I can get a nice parallel flow cooler rated for 20,000 GVW for $80. Problem is I've only been able to find them with 3/8th tube and our Dodge's run 1/2in. Will restricting the flow cause problems? Maybe I could buy two smaller coolers and run them in parallel. What do ya think.

The Summit catalog has a transmission cooler with 1/2 NPT fittings. Its make by B & M and is listed for 28,000 GVW. Their phone number is 800-230-3030. JEGS also carries transmission coolers with 1/2" tubes. Their phone number is 800-345-4545.

Good luck

I was wondering about the B&M transmission cooler as well. I would like to replace the stock cooler when I rebuild the transmission. I got a similar price from the dealer for another stock cooler. Does anybody see any problems with using the B&M cooler vs. stock?

Thanks,
Ryan

FWIW,
I've used B & M on my car and another truck for years, always in series with the stock cooler. Just mount them so you have air flow over the cooler, if possible. Not only helps keep transmission cool but also assists in keeping engine cooler. The cost of these coolers are much less than 1/2 the $275. 00 quoted.

Never a problem.
