I am interested in getting an auxillary fuel tank for in the bed. Any suggestions. I have only seen the transfer flow and was wondering what people think of them if they have used it and also of any other tanks available?

I had a transfer flow 38 gallon aft axle tank in my 2001. 5, and am hoping that they come out with a similar tank for the 3rd gens. I've already got enough stuff in my bed.

The best buy is an RDS out of Perry Fla. They have 60 and 90 gallon Aluminum Diamond Plate Combo/Tool/Tank for $500. The electric/plumbing kit is $250. I have run 3 of these systems with never a minutes problem. I love 'em! www.rdsaluminum.com

Aero tank is making a replacement tank. I think it is around 60-65 gals. I'd rather have it under than take up ant bed room. Besides when I slide in the lance I would have to take out the extra tank I needed.

I sell tanks and combos from UWS and Handy. The one from Handy is really nice because I just looks like a tool box, the filler neck is under the lid.

Fuel Tanks

Here is a good source: ATTA

Good quality tanks, prices are lower than the others I looked at. Quick service, they custom built mine and shipped in four days to my door.

My American is in it's 3rd truck. No problems and great support from American.

I still do not understand why transfer flow has to pump from one tank into another, why not just draw from both tanks and have each tank read on the dash gauge. KISS

My $2/100

I agree, the pump method did not make sense to me. You have to fill both tanks anyway since the transferflow pump only fills your tank to 75%. . (I think?)

The ATTB tanks are nice too. But, keep in mind they have a long waiting list due to a fire. They quoted me three months on a wedge tank. Plus the price was higher, about $300 on the tanks I was looking at.

One plus with the ATTB (American) tanks is the great install kit, its a bit more complete than the ATTA kit..... sending unit is installed, longer fuel hoses, better directions with pictures and they provide a large rubber grommet for your fuel lines.

The ATTA AT50-CB has the largest storage are I could find, thats what sold me since I wanted a tool box I could use.

That new black transferflow 70 gal tank looks awesome. The way my cummins sucks down the diesel, I'm also considering one, however I'm not sure my ATV will fit in the back with the tank installed:( Gotta do some measuring. I don't like diamond plate or bright silver so that rules out a few brands. .

I spoke with the president of Transfer Flow at the SEMA show last week. He apologized that the 3rd Gen tank wasn't out yet, due to lots of interruptions. He actually had the design in his briefcase and swore to put it at the top of the list.

VERY nice folks and they seemed truly interested in customer input. Look for it in the near future. I'm waiting as well.

p. s. this was the replacement tank for a QC short bed.
