Pick up new Dodge 3500 cummins dully tomorrow and have been thinking it may be a good idea to have auxiliary fuel tank added in the bed. Will be pulling a approx 12000 lb fifth wheel back and forth across the county and wonder if it would be helpful to have better control over fuel stops etc. Have been looking at transferflow fuel/tool box tanks. Please give your feedback as to do you think I need it it and if so any input on which tanks are the best for the money. I think the long bed dully has a 39 gal tank as standard equipment. Thanks for the help as I start out with my first diesel in about 30 years.

I'll let you know in a bit... I ordered my 50gal transferflow combo over 3 weeks ago from a dealer/installer near Cleveland Ohio. I am hoping that it will be here this week but I am not holding my breath.

I also have a ~12K 5th wheel and I had an issue with a fuel stop on a trip through Kentucky and made my decision right then to get an aux fuel tank. There are other options out there but the transferflow system seemed like an awesome solution.

I have a 110 gal step tank mounted in the bed with a fillrite 12v pump that is pre filtered and its the cats meow when travelingjust remember that its an extra 1000 lbs when full and it should be marked diesel and fixed in the bed. Different states different laws. Its really nice when you can fuel up in a state like ga. where the price can be 40cents a gal. cheaper than states within 3or4 hundred miles of it besides you fuel up when you want not when you have too. Believe me you will love it.

I have a 90 gal RDS tool box/tank combo that I love. Its aluminum diamond plate. I put int my own pump and filter and can refill the main tank with the flip of a switch in the cab. I can go anywhere I want to and only have to fill up in my home town.

Best thing I've done to the truck yet.

I got the Transferflow combo 3 years ago and like vary much.

It cost a little more. I,ve had no problem with it . No switches

or buttons, just fill and go. If you leave your truck running when

you fill up you have to fill the oem tank first. It uses the vent tube

to pump fuel into the oem tank.

Good Luck----Frank

I have the exact TF your are thinking of... love it and yes there is a big difference in fuel prices to be able to pay for the price of the TF. . or at least help. . no to mention the 1400 mile range. . of course a bit less while towing :D

there are less priced ones out there but the TF is fool proof and the best fit and finish of them all ! and the fuel never needs to be worried about as far as moving from one tank to the other, it's all automatic :)

where I live the fuel is 15/20 a gal higher than the truck stops in the valley an hour away... I usually time it to fill down there

one thing. . do not keep high priced items in the box. . I just had two large gatemouth tool pouch bags full of Snap On tools removed without my permission [stolen]. . the box can be racked and the top will open even locked

I went with the larger fuel tank(60 gal. ) replacement in the stock location. Extra fuel capacity and I still have all my bed space. I went with the arrowtank but would go with the transferflow if I was to do it again. The transferflow is a better made tank.
