Tank fuel leak.

I just installed my Turbo Boost gauge and was wondering what it should read. I have a 92 W250 with the fuel turned up and smoke turned down. have new 3" pipe going to a Dynomax muffler and 3" out over the rear end. I am getting about 22 at the most when foot to the floor. Most of the time when I give it the diesel, I get somewhere around 15 - 18. I also changed over to a 16 cm from the 18. 5 cm (thought it was a 21cm). This didn't change the boost at all but did notice a little better take off. Any thoughts? I have checked for air leaks and didn't see any. Should I be getting more boost?

Hi Scott.

What you report is about the max you will get with stock injectors. Change those puppies to the PW/JRE/BD and your boost should EASILY go over 25 psi.

Not so sure you need to change injectors to get higher, or even if you need higher. 22 is not all bad, but I understand the need. I currently get 30 psi with stock injectors on 1993 w/auto. I had pump massaged, valve adj. , pump timing and went to 12cm/2 all at once. Before that, I could get max 18 - 21 or so. Good luck!

Thanks for everyone's replies. I think getting new injectors would help me get up to where I would like to be... . for now. Just need to save up for those babies. Then to find someone to install them and tweak the pump at the same time should make a world of difference. Being in Vermont, nobody will touch my truck without turning everything back to normal first (charging me $$ to do so) and then LEAVING it normal. Sorry, can't do that now since I have tasted the power. So it looks as though I will be doing a road trip to better places in MA. or CT. sometime in the future.

Hi Scott.

Is Vermont's regulations that strict or are those shops owned by 'strokers who want to keep Dodge's stock? #ad

Not sure about regulations or not. I truly think they don't know much about it other then stock. One place said, 'Why would you do that, it makes enough power already and it probably wouldn't work any better'. I almost wanted to take him for a ride and let him decide himself about the power. They also mostly work on larger trucks, tractors, front loaders, stuff like that. Our local dodge dealer sends them the diesel trucks (gas trucks are bigger sellers here) and nobody has a bombed Ram up here. Any time I see and talk to somebody with a diesel, I tell them about TDR and point them this way if for anything, to learn about the problems their newer truck may be having. It's fun to pull against my brother-in-law. He has a 2000 Ford Powerchoke and though he beats me every time, not by that much. Before, he would just smoke me and I would catch up awhile later. So slowly but surely, I'm catching him #ad
