Wow! $499 to$600 for an EGR clean service!

I think the man who did mine, a former Dodge dealer mechanic, may have spent 1. 5 to 2 hours, perhaps less, to do mine.

If anyone wants to travel to west Texas where I live I can arrange for the same guy to do yours for a fraction of those prices.

I certainly never overlook that important detail. It is one of the big reasons I ordered a C&C instead of a pickup.

But is it actually physically different in a manner sufficient to make cleaning it any easier or less time consuming?

... should you do the delete before the service or right after the service?

The EGR delete topic is best addressed by those with experience with that, so I will limit my comment to an ancillary/optional aspect of the 67500 service, cleaning the grid heater.

That cleaning is something I would definitely do no matter what. Even with heavy highway mileage, my grid heater was quite dirty, and I could imagine that with another 40 to 50 k a very heavy soot load might start to adversely impact airflow into the intake manifold.

(Also wonder if the heater itself might fail to preheat as well, considering the "insulation". )

From what I recall in the latest TDR, removal of the cooler is easier and you don't have a cooler by-pass valve to deal with.

Bater, that is an excellent point regarding the grid heater remaining dirty, I hadn't thought of that which is why I use TDR

If this service is required at 67,500 miles is it safe to assume it is again required at 135,000 miles and every additional 67,500 miles that a 6. 7 is driven thereafter?

I believe that is correct. Maintenance intervals repeat at higher mileage and I think the owner's manual states that is the case.
