Yes it’s a stupid NYS vehicle law. Once was ANY weight pick up if not equipped with a cap AND permanent seats AND a camping device like a stove, has to have comm plates complete with business name on the side and tax stamp. Now it’s only for GVW over 8500. Hence why I run a cap.
NYS Law is only passenger vehicles on a parkway. Most parkways in NY were built with low clearance overpasses and such on purpose to keep buses and comm traffic out.
