Just thought I would share an awesome interior upgrade I did in my 12 valve. I LOVE my 12 valve but the interiors in these trucks are pretty dated. I installed a pioneer DMH-WT 8600NEX and LOVE it! It has apple and android CarPlay and tons of other awesome features. I installed an alpine High resolution backup cam and will be installing another one on the back of my cargo trailer as well. This thing even has Amazon Alexa capability. I installed a killer stereo and did a TON of sound proofing on all interior panels. I actually installed 2 layers of dynamat everywhere and then a layer of memory foam carpet padding over that. For a 12v, it is really quiet in the cab

Fantastic! I have been Googling for the same thing recently. I like this solution much better than trying to force-fit a 2-DIN touchscreen system into my dash. There are a few choices for swivel head units but trying to figure out the best one is challenging. Will have to look into the Pioneer.

By the way, your headliner. . .looks nice! Where oh where did you find the suede material wide enough to cover it? I measured and figured it needs to be 60" wide to be safe, but everything I find online is 54". My headliner is shot and I want to redo it in suede or perforated leather/leatherette.

Thanks! I actually worked for a company called interior magic for 8 years repairing auto interiors. I re dyed EVERYTHING that was plastic and pulled the seats out and pressure washed them. I got the microsuede for $30 at upholstery supplies of america in norcross ga

Pardon this post but I installed a more expensive but nice Alpine iLX309 about 5 years ago and really like the CarPlay and many other features. Like the OP I didn't want to hack up my dash to install a 2 din unit. It's adjustable enough to fit and a buddy of mine installed one in a manual transmission so the stick shift does fit. The Alpine has a accessory (KCA01)you can install that gives you the ability to connect up to eight devices like lights and the like and control them from a addition screen on the Alpine. Keeps you from having to drill holes in the dash for switches. I love that feature.
