... with my 2006 3500 ST 4x4, quad cab, LB, SRW. Less than 14K miles... still under warranty.

What I have is a persistent midrange to slightly high-pitched howling sound coming from the front end, when the vehicle is in gear. The noise seems particularly noticeable when stationary, starting into motion... . there is also a noticeable "crescendo" when turning the steering wheel in this situation, accompanied by a somewhat distressing "grinding" component in the noise.

Any insights, before I take her in to the dealership?

Many thanks,

Chris

If the problem gets worse as you turn... and you get what feels like wheel hop... . than my guess is a u-joint but this is very premature on your low mileage...

What I'm guessing is really the problem is a bearing out of one wheel and when you turn there is more side pressure on it... making more noise... .

Make sure you tell us what they found... .
