My gear grease has 37000 to 52000 or 15000 miles on it. I have Mag-Hytec covers front and rear so I pulled the dip sticks and checked level and condition. OK Not much material on the magnet and very clean yet. Could add a we bit of fluid to get to the upper mark. I. m using Mobil Synthetic 85-140. This is a 99 2500. I haul a 2500 pound slide in sometimes. Always cool temps not in the heat. How often should I be changing this fluid?

Some change it out every 30k but the way you use it I would think you should be able to go 50k pretty easy since you are not hauling heavy.

I was told a week or so ago, from a man who specializes in rear end parts sales service, replacement, anything and everythign that has anything to do with anything from driveshaft back, that: You should change your differential lube at 30K pulling loads, and 50K unloaded. Hope this helps.

Oh, forgot to mention: Mine NEEDS to be changed!!!!!
