Hey all. Looking for a few opinions on axle lube. I just picked up some Mag Hytec diff covers for my 93 4x4, and I was wondering what the consensus is on axle lube oil? I was thinking 75W90 synthetic front and rear. I do ZERO towing, so I don't see a need for the 75W140. And I think synthetic is a good choice here in MN as the winter can get a bit chilly.

Opinions?

Thanks.

75W90 synthetic is a good choice for zero to moderate towing. In testing and oil analysis with 75W140 it tends to retain way too much water under the above conditions. I have been running Amsoil 75W90 in my rear diff for close to 200K now with no problems. I change the transmission and rear diff every 18,000 miles.
