Resetting the oil change calculator question?

How much oil is needed to change out fluid in both the front and rear axles for 2009 2500 Cummins? Also, what type is most recommended? I'd like a synthetic refeerence that is readily available (no Amsoil or other specialty brands).

Thanks

Should be like 4 qts on the rear and 2. 5 on the front???. . Dont quote me on that... . Its in your owners manual...

You should be able to find Valvoline Full Synthetic at your local parts store. Thats the factory fill...

A lot of guys like Mobile 1, and I have seen good reviews and had good results with Pennzoil 75w90 synthetic in other things...

I used the Valvoline. However, I think changing it is the most important part of keeping the parts happy. Use a good quality major brand that meets the rating and you should be fine.

Becareful on the fill amount.

Dana goes to the plug and the American axle is actually below it. You have to reach inside and find the fill line with your finger.

If you over fill the American Axle - it will blow out the pinion seals.
