I doing some long needed maintenace on rear brakes and hubs. I plan on pulling off the rear hubs to change out a leaky seal and inspect the bearings. But my local NAPA can't find a part number for the axle nut or jam nut or what ever you would like to call it. Those are a one time use nut correct? Any one have a number for it, and the seal while your at it?

Thanks

Justin

Justin,

In case you caught my first reply to your question before this edit, forget what I originally said. I glossed over the fact you wanted to replace the wheel bearing seal (and possibly the wheel bearings) instead of just pulling the hubs off.

With that out of the way...

The jam nut and locking wedge are reusable (if not damaged). Just in case you need them, the Dodge part numbers are:

Jam Nut: 52069306.
Locking Wedge: 4797126

You can buy them online from Mopar Parts America.

The seal is SKF part number 30033. RockAuto has them for under $9. 00 each.

Best regards,

John L.

I bought a kit from Quad4x4 to fix a leaky axle seal, and upgraded to their double-nut setup to replace the stock locking wedge. I replaced the bearings at the same time, since I was in there anyway and I wasn't sure of the cause of the leak.
