In my Haynes manual for my truck it says some models the drivers side axle nut is reverse threaded. Would anyone know if this is the case on my 2001? I'm doing ball joints this weekend... .

I looked last night and I think it is. But I don't wanna be crankin the wrong way on it...

FWIW, the model year 2000 Parts Manual shows two P/N 4746773 Nut, Axle Hub used on 4x4 2500 & 3500 Rams. Also, the nuts are locked with cotter pins. It looks to me as though they're the same both sides.

On my 2001 (built 2/2000) both sides are right hand thread. You'll need a 3/4" or 1" braker bar with about 3' to 4' of cheeter bar. Put a 6" extention between the bar and the socket and support it with a jackstand, leave the truck weight on the tire, and then stand on the end of the cheeter bar.

Junk haynes , get a factory manual , Geno's Garage book or CD , it will pay for its self many times over , haynes , clymer ect will just get you in trouble , its been several decades since Chrysler did that .
