Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) axle nut

does anyone know what size the axle nut is on the dana 80 rear end? I have to change a seal and would like to do it the wright way. thanks

2 9/16" (that is the size for my Dana 70 and a while back another TDR member confirmed the Dana 80 is the same)



It is a special rounded hex nut so a regular socket will not work. NAPA has the socket you need for ~$30. If you want I can dig up the PN.

Yes, the part number would be great. I'm heading to NAPA this afternoon for the seal, the socket would be good too. Thanks!
