Axle oil

I Have a question about axle oil. I want to put synthetic in the rear axle, dodge recomends 75w-90, but I tow with the truck in the summer mainly. I have read about royal purple 75w-140, is this an overkill for a stock truck without a limmited slip diff? The truck is a 2002 (2nd gen 4x4). Any thoughts?

The 75W-140 is an excellent choice for a truck that tows. Synthetic is even better.



Personally, I'm not a big Royal Purple fan. However, that's just my $0. 02 and doesn't make it bad oil.
