Cleaning out a Propane Tank

Hi all, I have a question on the axle rating of my 5r. I have an 03 276efs Keystone Cougar. The axles on my trailer have a 6 lug pattern and others I have seen (exactly same 5r year and all) have only 5 lug pattern. Are these different ratings? I assume they are, and if so does anyone know the ratings of each? The brand name is "AL-KO". Thanks Phil :D

I would imagine that the 5 lug was an earlier model like a year or more earlier... The more Lugs when it comes to RV axles, the tougher they are... Don't know the rating or how much more the 6 is to the 5...

It probably has something to do with wheel diameter more than rating. I was unable to find 5 lug 16 inch wheels for my trailer. They all have 6 lugs.

There should be a plate affixed to the axle assembly somewhere that will give you that info. On Dexters it is at the center of the axle tube. If they were Dexters, I would guess that they were rated at 5200 pounds each.

Found it! A tag on the axle tube... 4400# per. The sticker on the front left corner of the 5r said 3500#. So it has upgraded axles... Thanks for all the replies. Phil

Just be sure your tires match that. Often the tires don't add up the what the axle is rated at. The tire rating and pressure are imprinted on the sidewall.
