2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Axle shift motor

Hi. First time sending a message. I own a 99 Ram 2500 4WD 5. 9L Cummins.

Problem : The vacuum canister on the axle shift motor became perforated due to corrosion. I want to know if somebody tried and succeeded in repairing such a damage. Is there another source than Dodge for the entire part?

First of all, let me be the first to welcome you to the TDR.

Second, do a search on this site. Start in the second generation trucks, then just type in CAD. ( Abreviation for the 4WD in and out mechanism. )

I'm sure there will be info. that will answer your questions.

Yes many other sources for the CAD motor, I think NAPA has them and other on line stores. Look at these links.

The last one seems a little spendy I think I have seen it for less. There is also the Posi-lock, uses a cable in place of vacuum.
