Poncis Diesel Drag/dyno Day

Sonoma / Napa / Marin / Lake county folk

Well with the new truck and the new mods Im wantin to get on the rollers. Anyone know of anything happening, even in socal, utah, colo, or nm? Maybe some of you az guys would like to do another dyno day...

Keep after this, I have never dynoed anything but my P-pumped 24v is as tuned as I can get it on the county road. Would really like to put it on the rollers.

I think there will be a dyno at the NADM event in Bakersfield Cal. 2/23

Well Bakersfield is almost 9 hours from me... The guys on DTR had a dyno day at Mynes Performance in Mesa back in July, maybe you all would be interested in getting in touch with those guys again and having it again if we could get a good number of trucks. I know of probably 5, including myself, that would go down from the town I live in. I could come up with a few more people. Anyone else interested?

My schedule wouldnt allow that kind of free time for a drive there, spend the night, dyno, and drive home... nor would the wallet :{ But I am serious about doing something at Mynes, so if anyone else is interested let me know. I plan on calling them Monday and see if they have anything available next month or in march, and how many trucks they would like to see and how much pulls would be. PM me if your interested and I'll get a list going. I'll post this on other sites as well

Well I talked to Mike and Mynes Performance in Mesa, and they would be happy to host another dyno day for us. They want a more specific date, but anything in february or march looks promising. It'll be $60 for 3 pulls, 10am to 6pm. They say they have plenty of parking so that wont be an issue. Maybe we can get some people to bring some bbqs and kind of do a bring what you want cooked...

Anyone have any specific dates to shoot for?

I wouldnt mind doing the dyno again---I just put stage 5 injectors in. Wonder if we can get a print out this time.

God bless,

chris

No, this fell through.

However, the DTR and Cummins Forum guys are trying to set up a dyno day at AZ Dyno Chip for March 29th. Dyno would be $45, and we will be having a BBQ, bring your own food to cook, as well as side dish for a potluck type thing. This is not yet set in stone, but I will keep everyone here up to date. Right now the 29th is a tentative date, but it sounds very promising. Wildcat (Bill Mish) is the one setting it up on DTR and cummins forum. If your interested, post here and I'll let him know.

This is a copy of what was posted on the DTR

Ok, Talked to Keith, we are all set for March 29th.

Their hours for that day are:

Saturday: 9:00am - 6:00pm

2wd Dyno rates are $45 for the first 20 minutes.

4wd Dyno rates are $65 for the first 20 minutes.

He accepts Visa, MasterCard, Cash, everything EXCEPT American Expess and Discover Card.

I did not ask about Personal Checks, so let's limit it to the above 3.

He doesn't include the dyno setup time to your truck in that 20 minutes. The clock starts when everything is ready to go.

You are welcome to make as many pulls as you can in that 20 minutes. You are given a printout of the horsepower and torque graphs, as well as a numerical printout of horsepower at each RPM increment. The graph also shows the Air Fuel mixture for each RPM. You may also choose to have the dyno runs emailed to any address. Then you can go home and play with the dyno runs with the free Dynojet Runviewer software.

He doesn't care if you want to run your car on the dyno instead of a truck. He doesn't care if you want to run a Chevy, Ford etc. instead of a Dodge. It's our club day, so we can allow who we want to run.

Maximum number of vehicles is about 30 in a day, so be sure to get a commitment from your buddies that want to run, and post up here so we can keep track. (Preferrably Dodges, but a few Chevys and Fords or whatever wont hurt. )

Also, be sure to tell your buddies about the BBQ, so they can bring something if they want to eat

I think that about covers it. I'll be posting a little later about the BBQ and a shop sponsor, so stay tuned!

For the BBQ, there are a bunch of people bringing side dishes, so bring whatever if you want to.

As for a shop sponsor, Truck Werks will be there with a small booth advertising and I believe they will be possibly offering deals and some tools just in case...

We will only be charged 2wd rates, unless you want to make a pull in 4wd. The 4wd rate is for the all-wheel drive rice burners and such.

Yes I believe they have done a lot of diesels. I'm sure that the A/F ratio readout will be a little... rich :-laf I plan on running late in the day just to see how he is running the automatic trucks. But regardless, there are gonna be a lot of people there so it will be a good time. Hope to see some of you there! If you will for sure be there let me know so I can get you on the "For Sure" list.
