Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting Who doesn't want one of these?

Heres a heads up on the recent actions of this recipient of Government Bailouts. It seems those bailouts may have some political strings attached.

ive been meaning to drop the BOA. they screw up a lot of stuff. when they sent me my card in the mail it had somebody's picture on it.

Unfortunately, I have done much business with BOA. It seems back in the '90s they were writing themselves checks without authorization off my grandmother's estate... ... for services they had not rendered... . without proper notification... . all I saw was a notation on her account as "Bank Fees. " Some exceeded $10,000. That's when it got ugly..... seems that's a felony in the banking world, so they quickly repaid ALL the fees after a short letter from the Federal Bank Examiners, but that didn't stop them from finding the individual's responsible among the Dallas branch's account managers and putting them in jail for a few years. It could have gotten worse for them, but we all got a break when my grandmother died from a stroke in '94.

Wells Fargo, CitiBank, Capital One, JPMorgan... . the list gets extensive. Here's the top 50, overall deposited money wise... . Nation's Largest Banks

They mostly have the misconception that guns cause caos and should be destroyed. Why, I don't know, perhaps the richest amongst them are aligned with the Liberals or Socialists, but THAT'S a topic for another forum, too... ... In the mean time, I'll keep my banking with the "small" privately owned banks that are run by the local business professionals in my area, who I get to go hunting with every now and then.....

Interstingly, GHarm, here's a link I found off your second article..... Brownell's Offers Financial Services Package for Small Gun Businesses « Daily Bulletin

That looks like something I need to look into... .

As a side note, I'd have liked to have seen Rock McMillan's reaction to what BOA had to say... ... :-laf. Hopefully, the rep got out in time!!! I'd hate to see Rock get sued over a well deserved arse kicking!!!

One of my friends just received her new checks from a small bank. Where it says"pay to order of" and "notes", it also has them written in Espanol. I told her I'd send them back and tell them to do it right. Seems banks are starting to get very pc. In keeping with the forum, yea guns!

If Navy Federal Credit Union where I have banked since 1977 or the local bank in Lubbock ever begins printing mexican bs on our checks our checks will be replaced free of charge with ordinary old American English or the accounts will be terminated asap.

I dont blame anyone for not doing business with McMillan the owner is a backstabbing LPOS. I ordered one of their gun stocks and waited for the delivery time nothing showed. Called oh we are going to be just a little longer!!! That time came and went. Called and they have no idea of what I was talking about. That came as a surprise because I have a record of them receiving funds for the stock. According to them THAT NEVER HAPPEND. We turned it over to BBS and went to a gun show that only dealers go to (sorry cant remember the name of show) and confronted the head A HOLE there with proof of the transaction. I asked when there were a BUNCH of dealers around McMillan tried to get me removed from the show. Got my money back and will bad mouth them at every opportunity.

???

WOW! BIG! That is the first time I've ever heard about an issue with McMillian!!!!. Sorry you had that kind of experience with them! GregH

The owner of the place I cant remember his name gave me a bunch of I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER at the show. He said ill show you how much it mean's to me and pulled out a wad of money and threw some at me and said pick it up and get out. I told him to pick it up and hand it to me and MAYBE ill get out. He didn't I said see you in court!!! and walked off. A week later the postman gave me a registered letter with a check in it. WHAT AN A HOLE

I'm gonna bet that was Gale. I've heard a lot of people not get along with him. Kelly and Rock run it now, his sons, as I believe Gale has passed away... . I think they know you can't treat people like that and expect to stay in business..... they've been very cordial to me when I've met them..... perhaps not overly friendly, but certainly professional and answered any questions I had.

Interesting history, but don't forget to read between the lines and take your spoon of salt..... McMillan family (Rock McMillan; Gale McMillan) I have one of those Harris actions, a later model, and it came with a Pacific Research stock on it..... cracked all to hell from the 300WM it was chambered in.

BIG, I'm not surprised to hear it. He got so big so fast, it's a wonder he didn't forget to pay his taxes. Sometimes people forget about what's important in life..... I use their stocks extensively, as they are one of the best made..... but I have a relationship developed with my account manager, and we work to keep each other happy as best as you can in business.....

Did the guy look like this... . ?

I cant remember HH it was quite awhile ago hell half the time I have to look at my drivers lic. to find my name :-laf. I could have lived with it if they just would have owned up to F ing Up and take care of the purchase. I have gone to HS precision Stocks and find them to work for me.

Nothing wrong with the H&S, only they don't do much custom work... . take it like it is or don't take it!! I use them for hunting rifles quite a bit, as I can save on the overall cost and know they'll last the life of the rifle... .

For a general beat around stock, you cant go wrong with the H-S Stock.

Contrary to advertisement. They should be bedded. Even with that aluminum chassis. The reason, of course, is that most factory receivers are not absolutely round or flat where they are supposed to be. Inconsistent contact in that aluminum chassis creates anomalies in the vibration patterns as well as torquing/twisting/bending of the action when the tang screws are tightened.

I'm sure you know that.

My . 30/338 on a 700 Remington action is bedded in an H-S precision Police stock. The accuracy is incredible. My only complaint is the stock looks like a club. It does not have those classic lines and shape like the McMillian HTG and M-40, or the progressive design utilization of the A-Series stocks.

All that being said? I wished that I could locate another laminated cherry wood blank for a long action Remington M-700 and a M-70 Winchester.

The Rutland plywood individual laminates are to thick, IMHO. I have a laminated cherry wood blank that is partially semi-inletted for a Remington M-700 short action. The layers of laminate are very thin, which makes for a dense stock.
