Hello,

I was wondering if someone here installed Airbags with their B&W hitch and Companion setup? RE: My Black and Grey tanks are located up front of the axles of my 5th wheel. The weight of the tanks really sags the truck when the tanks are full. Running at night, traffic thinks I have my High-Beams on.

Thanks, Bob

*Pics would be helpful* :)

I helped a friend of mine install both a B&W hitch and Air-Lift bags on his 03 4X4 a couple of years ago. Everyting went fine and he uses the setup on a weekly basis to pull a large enclosed gooseneck trailer for work. He tells me all the time how much the air bags helped.

Great! I was thinking of going with the Firestone Ride-Rite Drill less system. Any recommendation on airbag companies?

I just put the Firestone kit on my truck last friday. It bolts right in and fits perfectly with the B&W hitch. The top mount for the airbag bolts on in place of the axle bumpers below the frame so it won't interfere with the hitch.

Good choice. I put some on my truck in an afternoon at a real easy pace. You will really appreciate them. My truck has the Kore front lift and it sat nice and level empty, put the trailer on and I was getting people ticked off in the oncoming lane. No issues now.

i have that exact setup. no pics though. works great with no compatability problems. i do belive its the set that B&W recomend as well for fitment.

love the system and thats the sae reason i got them. everyoe thought i had my high's on. no issues now. i do want to get a compressor and an in cab controll system, but it will wait a while. i have put over 22k miles on my truck with the setup. zero issues yet.

Here's a pic of B&W with Firestone airbags. Father in law has Air lifts and they are both equal in quality and ease of install.

Air Bags with B & W

I went with the Timbren rubber springs on my '03. Less expensive, but rougher ride when solo. They install just like the air bags. Need no commpressor and guaranteed never to rupture.

Thanks Clyton for posting the Pics... Now I can sleep at night! LOL!!!! I was thinking they were mounted outside of the frame rails... .

Has anyone here with the airbags gone offroading with their trucks? I don't mean desert racing, but slow trail stuff with lots of flex. If so, how did the airbags perform? Do they get in the way at all and/or stretch too much? If you let all of the pressure out of them is it like they aren't even there? As you can no doubt tell I have been very interested in getting a set of these (I drive around a lot with my ATV in the bed and with all of my offroad gear in the box, including a rear winch, I can get tail heavy) but I didn't want to sacrifice the offroadability of my truck. Any advice/thoughts are appreciated.
