Hey guys, my new 04. 5 will be here next week and I'll be installing a B&W turnover ball hitch. I'll also be getting the rear wheel liners for the truck. My question is: should I hold off installing the wheel liners until after I install the hitch to make the job easier or doesn't it make any difference? Thanks much.

I would hold off on putting the wheel liners on until the B&W hitch is in. The hitch bolts in the same area that is covered by the wheel liners. You will need to make a hole in the drivers side wheel liner for the "pull pin" of the hitch. I used a 3 inch hole saw on the liner. It looks good and works just fine.

I just finished installing mine on my 97 with wheel liners already inplace. It worked OK, but would have been a little easier if they had not been there... so I would wait since you have a choice. I used the same 4" hole saw that I cut the bed with for the wheel liner - needed something to get my big 'ol meathook through to reach the lever. That hitch install was one of the few things I've ever put on and not messed up along the way at least a little bit - it went just like the instructions said and fit like a glove.

Thanks for the replies. That's kinda what I thought. Glad to hear the B&W install went smoothly. I've never done one before either but it sounds like with good instructions I shouldn't screw it up too bad.

I just installed the B&W hitch 2 days ago and you can not install with liners in, but on the good side it is a quality product with good instructions.

note: when it is time to drill holes for safety chains it is better to mark center holes from bottom then drill 1/2 " hole from top.
