Amateur Question: what kind of hitch for goose/5th?

trailer electric question

I have a 04. 5 3500/4x4/SRW/Short bed. Need to get a GN hitch soon, and plan to add some Firestone aribags. Has anyone installed the B&W Turnover Ball hitch along with the Firestones? It looks like the bags will interfere with the lever for the Hitch release? Is there and easy mod to fix this?

Thanks for the input,

I have an 03 2500 4x4 short bed and I have the B&W turnover with Firestone air bags. . the hitch looks like it would get in the way but it doesn't.

I have a long bed, but that shouldn't make any difference. There is no interference between the bags and the hitch. They do make for a nicer ride with a loaded trailer and empty as well.

The third gen bags mount under the frame rail rather than outside of them. I can't see where there would be any interference.

Speaking of air bags Scott, are you still happy with the Kelderman? If I keep getting positive reports Kelderman will get the next wad of cash after Piers installs the twins.

Well..... I'm not complaining :D At this point I'm saying I didn't need a 5" lift and wish I only had 2-3 but I have no complaints about the overall fit and finnish or functionality of the system. If you're thinking about adding bags to the front and staying stock height I'm not sure I'd do it though, the ride won't be much better. It's the back end that need the most of the help.

That's what I've been hearing. The front is nice but not much change. Which shocks are you using? At stock ride height I wonder if the stock shocks would work with thier system. With the B&W turnover ball Kelderman said they need to make some small adjustments to thier brackets but nothing major.

I'm running the Rancho 9000 shocks. Space is tight in the front, they proabbly won't get full bag travel from the shocks at stock height. I barely get it with an extra 5" to play with. The stock shock will not work because you can't have coil-overs anymore, they gotta be outside the bags. Yes, I had to modify their brackets a little to clear my goosneck (not a B&W though), but nothing major just a trim.
