DTT transmission upgrade time.....

South Bend clutch

I've searched and read and read and searched, but feel free to direct me to on topic discussion of big turbos.

Here's the deal. I will be at 475 RWHP according to DD configurator with a larger turbo. I have everything else in order--cept for the air filter, I will go Scotty II on that.

Call me paranoid or crazy, but I don't want a 40. If somebody GIVES me one, yes I'll bolt it on. But I'm plunking down my money on a heavier turbo.

So that leaves the B1 family and the DD H2E version and the Pius Schwitzer.

I ran across a used B1 and wonder if my fuel level- DDUFM and DD3's- will spool that thing at all. Yeah, I can call Rob and Kurt and others, but today I had to go yell for the Titans. What's the word on the street for B1 standard housing and sub 500 fuel?

I'm leaving a black trail with the 35 now. I figure a KSB1 would be the ticket. I don't tow heavy or regular, just want to blow the doors off ANY DuraStroke that comes around. :D ... which isn't too hard right now.

You should spool it fine. You will have some lag when you run with the box off. But when the box is on the higher setting I would say that it will spool good. But everyone has a different opinion. I'm running a 50 with bd 4s adn a ddufm and i think it spools just fine.

Besides, after you wait for the first 15 lbs its all :) :) :)

KSB1B and love it.

Takes above ~ 8# to really get it moving, but it WILL MOVE then.

Towing where the # is normally a little higher it works GREAT!

When I daily drive it at 2-4# it takes a second or two to get to 8#, but then you better be hanging on.

Low # it smokes just a little bit, #>8 very little smoke, LOTS of air!

VERY PLEASED with it,

Wade, you'll spool it fine. I think your makinmg a fine choice in turbo's. The b1 is extremely durable,i had min for almost 2 yrs now,it works as good as the day i bought it,and I even shoot N20 at it. id get the quickspool housing,I have the large housing and its fine, but id liek a tad quicker spool if icould get it,due to my Hp level i wanted the larger housing.

B-1's

I've got a B-1B on my truck. It has the standard B-1 exhaust housing but has the smaller turbine wheel of the KSB1. If I were to put the KSB1 exhaust housing on it it would be a KSB1

The turbo is used for towing at high altitudes and an occasional dyno run/event. It works great at my HP level:D

An HX40 over 450HP is on borrowed time, been there done that:{
