Back light not working

Was able to get my Westach dual egt and boost gage hooked up and installed without any problems. Or so I thought. Tested the bulb to make sure it was working..... it was. Installed it and an hour later no back light. Any clues as to what happened. I know many things could have gone wrong, and I am a novice. Ground wires correct, 24VDC correct. A reputable diesel performance guy did the install while I watched and was kind enough to answer questions as he worked. Any body got any clues as to what could have gone wrong? I figured everything necessary for install would be included in the kit. Do I need to order the 24volt adapter kit? If so I think it is kinda lame of the manufacturer to not include it

Your truck is 12 volt. If you have a 24 volt bulb in it, it will glow very dim if at all. You need a 12 volt bulb. And if your gauge is indeed 24 volt, it won't work correctly either.
